Craft pack
During quality control we keep aside certain products because they have a sewing or weaving mistake. These ‘seconds’ are used by Wereldwijven Ateliers to create new products. However, we still have some very small coupons left that can be used for crafts. A craft-pack consists of a minimum of 10 pieces, approximately sized 19 x 70, and several even smaller scraps. At this moment all of these scraps are Wild Weave dessin tea towels, flat woven jacquard cotton weight 25o gms, you’ll receive a bold colour mix. We will add 2 cotton labels with our logo and laundry instructions to finish your products if you wish so. Of course we would love to see what you have made so don’t be shy sending us a photo!

Wild Weave
Wild Weave refers to the original weaving technique and the archetypal tea towel. In this design, a variety of colours come together in an unexpected yet harmonious way.

Care Instructions
All Odds & Ends textiles can be washed at 60°C on a cotton programme with similar colours. For a longer life, we recommend washing at 30°C. An organic, colour-safe detergent can help keep the colours looking bright, while line drying can help your textiles last even longer.

For terry products, especially those with a velour finish, occasional tumble drying at medium heat can help keep them soft without the need for fabric softener. If you live in an area with hard water, a little citric acid or vinegar in the rinse can help soften both the water and your towels.

Snags
Some Odds & Ends products are woven with terry loops to give them that soft, absorbent texture. When new, these loops can be a little more prone to snagging, so watch out for jewellery during the first few uses.

If a snag happens, don’t worry. Simply cut it off with a pair of sharp scissors. Whatever you do, don’t pull it! Cutting the snag prevents it from running further and won’t damage the woven structure. With time and use, the fibres become less prone to snagging.

Production
Odds & Ends textiles are made in Portugal using 100% cotton industry remainders. These are small quantities of yarn left over from other textile productions. Instead of going to waste, they get a second life as something useful and beautiful.

Colours
Odds & Ends towels are made in small batches using surplus industry yarns, so colours can vary from one batch to another. We keep the overall palette consistent, so pieces within the same colour family still work well together. Your towel may look slightly different from the one in the photos, but the overall colour and feel will remain the same.

Foekje Fleur x Wereldwijven
Wereldwijven ateliers was founded in 2011 with the aim of creating a space where women from diverse cultural backgrounds, who risk falling behind in society, can engage in creative and meaningful activities. Over the years, it has grown into a centre with an embroidery works, sewing workshop and a shop located in a beautiful historic townhouse in the old center of Dordrecht. More than eighty women from around 27 countries currently collaborate on handicraft and sewing projects, share life experiences, practice Dutch, and support each other with daily tasks. Wereldwijven ateliers creates products for its own label—such as decorative cushions and carries out small-scale production work for brands like Foekje Fleur.

All products in this page are made from ‘seconds’ quality Odds & Ends, they use the goods parts of products that didn’t pass quality control to sew pouches, bunting and wash gloves.
